Here at [university where I work], summer hours are almost over! See, from May to August (and I’m sure lots of other universities do this), our working hours are adjusted so that a) we come in earlier, b) we have a shorter lunch, c) we leave a little earlier Mon-Thurs, and d) Fridays are half-days. It’s a semi-controversial practice, because some folks (mostly the ones who have been at the university for donkey’s years) couldn’t imagine going without those early Fridays, while some others hate having to arrive earlier and can’t wait for them to end.
I’m somewhere in between the two–mostly, I’ll miss the slightly more casual dress code we’re allowed when summer’s on. No more shorts after today! Which is obviously why I needed to fit one more wear in before the week was out, come hell or high water. (Although, now that summer’s on the downslide–though I don’t doubt we have a million more extra-hot days just waiting to burn us all–I’m wondering if these shorts aren’t a little small on me. Hrm.)
Anyhow, it was also a good excuse to wear my dramatic, drapey Target top again. It’s so comfy and breezy! Plus, the pattern reminds me of origami paper. I used to be super-duper into origami when I was a wee one, but I never quite had the fine motor skills to do the really complex figures that I wanted. So, naturally, I gave it up. Easy or bust, people!
Boy, am I feeling scatterbrained today. Hoof. It’s been a busy couple of weeks, guys! But the weekend looms before me, and I have zilch planned–although Mike and I might take a drive down to the Monterey Bay Aquarium again if we’re feeling punchy tomorrow. If not, it’ll just be a couple days of lazing around and cleaning up! That sounds like a hundred kinds of all right to me.
Next weekend, though, I’m thinking I might need a haircut. Look at how much it’s grown out since I got it buzzed! I haven’t decided, though, if I’m going for another buzz, just getting a trim so it can grow out some more, or what. Do I leave it natural? Dye it again? There are too many possibilities, and I’m feeling stymied by indecision. What do y’all think?

Summer hours must be so nice! The light in these photos is great, and I love the movement of the top.
I can only make origami cranes. Anything else is a total disaster, haha.
