Outfit Post: 9/6/12

Top: Gift — Skirt: Goodwill — Flats: American Rag Compagnie — Bracelet: The Brown Elephant — Earrings: Hand-me-down

My outfit here was inspired by this outfit of Kyla the Great’s, which I’ve had sitting on my Pinterest account for basically four million years. It’s great, isn’t it? I’m kicking myself a little now because I totally missed out on an opportunity to wear floral flats instead of these brown oxford-y ones, because Kyla sure is wearing some badass kicks in her picture. Que lastima.

I originally intended to wear it with my own rainbow necklace, but unfortunately that necklace didn’t jibe too well with the neckline of this shirt, and since I can’t wear tank tops to work I modified the idea to include my second-favorite rainbow accessory. (I try to love them all equally, but you know how it is. Like with children.)

Plus, I dunno, some carved-like-scarabs tiger’s eye earrings just for funsies.

Do you pin lots of other people’s outfits for inspiration? Or do you mostly pin garments you’d like to buy in the future? Or do you use Pinterest for some unknown, mysterious purpose besides obsessing with clothing?

  1. I pin a ton of other people’s outfit for inspiration and then mostly do nothing with them. I also pin clothes I’d like to buy, but that works out even less often because I keep pinning Burberry coats and Burberry is damned hard to find at Goodwill.

Love the rainbow bracelet. A lot.

  2. I, um, pin stuff for memory enhancement. Yep. And for help getting dressed.

Your yellow skirt looks like it has a kick pleat in front. I love those. I may have to pin you to remember to try a black shirt with my thrifted yellow skirt.

  3. I pin EVERYTHING in the world, as I’m sure you know.
