Top: The Brown Elephant — Pants: Old Navy — Camisole: Ragstock — Flats: Thrifted (Born) — Earrings: Etsy — Bracelet: Found

I’m not feeling much like a functional human being today, so I’ll keep this short.

The weather today is blustery and rainy in the extreme, so it’s nice to have these pictures from more pleasant climes last week to look at.

Which is not to say that I consider rain unpleasant–just complicated, pictures-wise.

I managed to sneak in another wearing of these wooden earrings–I wish I could wear them more often, but they’re rather difficult to put on (attempt to center main body of earring over pierced hole; attempt to thrust post through both earring and pierced hole and back out again without causing ears undue damage), so they’ve remained a once-in-a-while accessory.

The point may be moot anyway, because rainy weather doesn’t seem like it would be good for wooden jewelry. Does anybody know if that’s actually true, or if I’m just making things up again? It wouldn’t be the first time.

  1. rubybastille says:

Wooden jewelry strikes me more of a summer thing for some reason. Maybe because it’s lightweight and wearing heavier metal just doesn’t sound as appealing? Either way, I tend to only wear wooden earrings when I’m wearing other brown stuff, or trying to tone down a particularly ornate necklace – I have a necklace of brass disks and leather that I used to wear just for bellydance, but with simple wood drops it works pretty well for the office.

  2. I can’t imagine why rain would be bad for wooden earrings? Unless you then tried to nuke them or something(because the water could get in the wood, and expand it and then you’d have cracks), but…I think the answer is don’t…microwave your earrings after they get wet?

ALSO THESE PANTS. THESE PANTS. They look so comfortable! And pretty!
