Here’s a really lazy outfit that we haven’t seen the like of in quite some time. I honestly wasn’t going to get dressed at all on Sunday, but then Mike’s dad invited us out to lunch.

Rarely have I been more reluctant to change out of pajamas, let me tell you.

At first, giraffe dress was going to see me through this difficult ordeal alone; I ended up adding the jeans because of the unusual cold spell we’ve been having. (By cold, I mean mid-60s to mid-70s. I recognize that Winnipeg got snow over this past weekend, and I’ll sit in the sun an extra five minutes for all of Manitoba tomorrow.)

So, yeah. Some red and orange shades that didn’t necessarily work together, but it got me out of the house, where I had a pretty good salad. Could’ve been worse.

Slowly getting back into the outfit picture game after days of wearing nothing but shorts and dust.  Baby steps! Dress and sandals.

But we’re moved! I’ll be trying out different areas of the yard for pictures! EXCITING. First area: Window Area With Dying Plants.

If this giraffe were a real giraffe, he could help eat those dead plants.

(Or maybe I want a goat? I don’t know if giraffes think they’re too good for dead plants.)

With my trip to Austria and Slovenia rapidly approaching, I have the good sense to start getting properly terrified while I scramble around, trying to get ready.

20140412-IMG_1798

Are any of us ever REALLY ready for international, overseas trips? Well, yes, I’m sure many of us are, but I don’t think readiness for anything is within my wheelhouse.

20140412-IMG_1799

I took it upon myself to run some errands on Saturday–you know, picking up things I’ll need (toothpaste) and things that make me feel better (new underwear).

Giraffe dress came along to help me feel a little less panicky about the whole thing. Thanks, giraffe dress!

Of course, I forgot some things, so I’ll need to make a second trip before I leave next Thursday morning (!!!). By the way, if anybody has any quality recommendations for the Toronto Airport, we’ve got a layover there for a couple of hours–it’ll be nice to see you again from inside the big windows, Canada!

Dress: Multiple Threads — Camisole: Van Heusen — Sandals: Dansko — Hat: Target — Bracelet and earrings: Gift, from Greece

You might remember the time last year when I attended the Solano Stroll for the first time and took five million pictures of dogs. Of course you remember! Every day of my life is more important to you than the last.

20130908-IMG_0519

Well, as annual things often do, the Stroll came back around again, and I went with my head held high!

The rest of me was clothed in a dress I bought at last year’s Stroll.

I also added some jewelry from Greece and a gigantic sun hat to top things off, for beautification and sun-blocking purposes, respectively.

I didn’t take any doggie photos this time–I wanted to just “enjoy the moment” or something like a chump–but as you can see, the Stroll was packed! We had a great time, I bought another cute dress, and we saw a truly excellent blues band, so I left satisfied.

Plus, I ate my first-ever knish! That photo doesn’t have a filter or anything; that’s just what love looks like. Love and mashed potato wrapped in pastry.

The time has finally come, friends. I couldn’t wait any longer. I wanted–nay, HAD to–show you…the giraffe dress.

This was definitely my biggest impulse buy at the Solano Stroll a couple of weeks ago, and I don’t regret it for a moment.

It may not be suitable for work, seeing as how it’s made out of old t-shirt material, but that’s just fine by me. I’ll just be over here, wearing it every weekend, all weekend.

Well, okay, maybe not. But I think this is my equivalent of George Costanza’s “drape myself in velvet” fantasy.

Oh, giraffe dress. Don’t ever leave me.

(P.S. Guess which co-blogger Mike and I are picking up at the San Francisco Airport tonight to whisk away for dinner? Thaaaat’s right, it’s Flat Tire Tia! She’s in town over the weekend for a conference, so we’re getting in some quality time while we still can. She better get ready for some noogies!)
