Tunic/dress/thing: Swap (H&M) — Camisole: Old Navy — Leggings: Target — Flats: Thrifted (Born) — Necklace: Made by my grandma — Bracelet: Gift — Earrings: Hand-me-down

I got this little floaty loosey-goosey tunic/dress/thing at a swap nearly a year ago, and then it sat in my closet while I pondered how to wear it. I normally like to wear stuff that’s pretty fitted, at least on top–probably at least in part as a reaction to all the XXXL t-shirts I wore as a highschooler. While oversized clothing has become somewhat fashionable again, I tend to feel less fashionable in it and more like I don’t know how to choose clothing that fits properly.

On the other hand, floaty babydoll-type dresses are meant to fit this way, and the weather was nice, and I was like “fuggit” and threw it on over a basic camisole and leggings and went to the thrift store. So easy to try things on over/under and to throw off so other dresses could go on!

And I will admit that I was a little surprised at how cute I felt. I’ll have to figure out some different ways to wear it so that it’s not just the same thing over and over…but then, that wouldn’t be too bad either.

Speaking of things that aren’t this tunic/dress/thing, I’m pretty sure Tia got me this bracelet when she went on a cruise in high school! (I say “pretty sure” because another friend, Liz, took a trip at around the same time and also gave me a bracelet as a souvenir, but I’m like 90% positive it’s a different one.)

Plus I added some cute little hand-me-down butterfly earrings that I don’t think I’ve ever worn before, but which are cute and seem trendier than a lot of stuff I own. (Mint green is trendy now, right? Despite being exposed to trends and stuff approximately a thousand times more now than I was as a non-style-blogger, I still feel a bit befuddled by it all sometimes.)

In other news, I’m really kind of insufferable, aren’t I?

I only hope you’ll all forgive me, because I don’t think I can change.

  1. I totally got you that bracelet. I even remember getting you that bracelet(as opposed to the other one). I think my mom encouraged me into doing it, because at first I just got one for myself, and then figured, it is just pesos! That was my graduation present, that cruise. Aaah, fun times.

Now we both have yellow tunics, hurray! We should be dumb and matchy when I’m California side! (Besides, that would force me to put in my 30 for 30 and thus figure out a million ways to wear it).

  2. ooooh grrrrrrl… that dress looks freaking perfect layered over the cami and leggings. and while I also gravitate towards fitted shit, you are really workin’ the flowiness! you look adorable. always, really… but especially in that yellow number. and the butterfly earrings are perfect.

So totally adorable! Like a little ballerina in between classes (really random, I know, but it’s what popped into my head).
