Tank top: Goodwill — Button-front: Gift — Skirt: Goodwill — Belt: Thrifted — Socks: Big 5 — Shoes: Payless — Bracelet and ring: Hand-me-downs — Necklace: DIY (based on a design from Little Treasures by TG) — Earrings: Won in a Dressing Up For Life giveaway

When I came into work wearing this outfit last Thursday, the first thing my team lead said to me was, “You look like ice cream!” Apparently the tank top is Neapolitan and the skirt is sprinkles. Which is adorable of her, so I’m not going to argue.

I wasn’t sure the whole combination was going to work–and I’m still not sure how I feel about the shoes, they’re kind of dark compared to the rest of it–but I am generally pleased, and I’m looking forward to wearing this skirt way more. Tia actually invited me to do another 30 for 30 with her through the month of May, and I think the skirt is going on the list!

And fortunately one doesn’t generally count jewelry on the master 30 for 30 list, so I can wear whatever I want in that department. Take that, haters! (What haters?)

I do have a secret to share, though: I totally put a slip on after I got home from work, because I forgot when getting dressed in the morning that this skirt isn’t lined, so my dark gray bike shorts were showing through all day. Cool, right? That’s what the cool people are doing? Something something loud rock music and complicated shoes.

  1. I’m excited to see lots of this skirt then! It’s super adorbs. I love that you wore the button front open and then belted it to keep it in place. Aaah. Awesome.

Also, slips! Man. I finally got skin-tone pettipants to wear under my lighter skirts since all I’d had before were the black ones. Best investment.
