(If you want, you can imagine in the above picture that I’m shooting invisible laser beams at some jerkhead off camera. Pew pew pew!)
I mentioned in the last couple of posts that I recently did a big overhaul of my closet and sorted out a lot of clothing, which ended up at my favorite Goodwill. Some of the clothes were things that didn’t fit anymore (or never really fit in the first place), things that took too much bother to wear, and things that just plain don’t inspire me anymore. I’m hoping that it all finds its way to a new home where it can all fulfill its destiny of being worn and loved.
I will admit that I may have gone a little overboard with the sorting in my fever to get rid of everything, and I did reach back into the pile for one or two items, including this skirt. I hemmed and hawed and hemmed a little more–it’s not as versatile as some other skirts, since its weight and design have it pretty firmly in Spring and Summer, and like I mentioned last time, I have difficulties with red.
But it is cute, and if I only stick to colors I’m comfortable with I’ll evolve stylistically, so I made a deal with myself: style it one more time for the end of summer, pack it away when the weather changes, and give it another look-see once spring comes around again.
Fortunately, I sort-of remembered seeing turquoise and red around the interwebs as a semi-trendy color combo for summer, and while this top isn’t turquoise (what would you call it? robin’s egg blue? sky blue? I-don’t-give-a-crap-this-Crayola-shit-is-dumb blue?), I’m calling it close enough. Although it does betray that I apparently need a better-fitting bra. It’s life in the fast lane when an A cup is too roomy, I tells ya.
One thing I’m not afraid of, though, is wearing any dang color I please while my hair is pink. Red and pink? Yes, ma’am! It’s funny how I have a stylistic block for some things but not others. How about you?
