Blazer: Goodwill (BCBG Max Azria) — Skirt: Goodwill (Target) — Camisole: Goodwill — Flats: Thrifted (Born) — Necklace: Gift from Katie! — Bangle: Solano Stroll — Ring: Nervous System
There are a few funny things about this skirt.
1) Neither the front nor the back patterns are quite centered, and centering one completely throws off the other.
2) I didn’t realize at first that it had little front pockets, because they were sewn up all fancy-like (since it was Target deadstock and hadn’t actually been owned before going to Goodwill). I just thought there were odd seams that had a hole in them, and it took some exploring with a (clean!) butter knife to discover their innate pocketitude. Don’t look at me like that, it was 7:20am and I was tired and confused.
3) Both the front and the back patterns look like funny, grumpy, gargoyle-y faces with mustaches. Scroll back up and tell me if I’m wrong.
There’s also something weird about this blazer: see those pocket flaps? They’re false flaps that lead to zero pockets, naturally–HOWEVER. Look ABOVE and BEHIND the flap, and you find a pocket. Why?! Why the flaps? To trick cutpurses and thieves? Just thinking about it makes my head hurt.
Still, I like them both quite a bit, and they let me rock some fall colors last week, even though the temperatures are still in the mid to high 90s. I think I’ll keep ’em both, although I’m giving the blazer chalkboard duty for that pocket nonsense. There’s just no excuse.
