Tank top: Goodwill — Shorts: Nordstrom Rack — Sandals: Goodwill (Aerosole) — Necklace: Gift from Katie! — Bangle: World Market

Saturday may have been the last day of shorts-appropriate weather here in California, and I took full advantage of the situation to bust out the shortiest shorts I’ve got. (Man, with all that bare leg plus the wedges, don’t I look mad tall? It also helps that I had the camera a little too close and kept cutting off the top of my head. That’s a little-known photography secret for tallness that I’ll let y’all have for free ‘cuz I’m just so generous.)

I don’t know how the rest of the world will survive without seeing my thighs again for four or five months.

Then again, maybe I’ll layer them up with some tights and continue to wear them through winter. They’re just too comfortable to forego entirely.

In any case, this necklace is fully year-round material, and I’m looking forward to styling it with some of my chunky sweaters. C’monnnn, sweater weather!

Do you have any warm-weather clothing that you plan to adapt for the colder months?

  1. Becky Shelley says:

you are just a rainbow of brightness and light in the last days of summer weather. I have 2 distinct wardrobes for warm and cold and never the two shall meet. Sad that my clothes talk with my inner voice and say you can’t do that its not the right time of year for that. I am still bogged down by the fashion rules I grew up with. Help! I may be too old to change my ways. But you inspire me!

  2. These shooorts. They are just so bright. I think you could rock them with tights…especially in what California calls winter. OR. I’m not sure if it would “work”, but you could try them with your suuuuuper long socks (aren’t they in the same color family) with the suspender-style sock garters? I can see it in my head, but I have no idea how close the colors are for that.

Considering I don’t pack up my summer clothes ever(I am the laziest), I have no problem wearing summer clothes in winter. I dig on layering tees/long sleeve tees, and now that I have awesome fleece leggings, I can wear more of my shorts/skirts in le winter too.

  3. I want sweater weather to come so badly. I have a very soft and cozy sweater I finished knitting well over a month ago, and I have yet to wear it. I thought this past weekend in upstate NY would have been perfect, but it was near 70F the entire time.

I do wear most of my summer things through fall and winter. Tank tops are good for layering, and opaque tights and long-sleeved cardigans can go over many of my dresses. I have another cardigan I am knitting now. Maybe one day that will also be wearable.
