Sweatervest and boots: Thrifted — Skirt: Gift — Hat: Macy’s — Leggings: Leah’s free pile — Pendant: Hand-me-down — Bangle: Solano Stroll
Recently, I gave away most of my sweaters and sweatervests with attached lapels and cuffs (you know the kind). They were all still in pretty good condition, but I’ve realized recently that I just don’t find them remixable enough for my wardrobe. I’d really like a nice selection of sweaters, sweatervests, and button-front shirts to swap in and out with each other, but I have a hard time layering them without looking extremely lumpy and annoyed, which is where the faux-layered shirts entered my wardrobe in the first place.
Someday I’ll figure this layering thing out for myself (tailoring is probably the answer, right?), but for now I’ll hang onto this one, because the pattern is just so much fun. I’m tempted to cut off all the non-sweater bits, though, because they’re super thin and wrinkle so easily.
Do you like the preppy layered look? Do you achieve it with pre-layered clothing, or do you have tricks for getting everything to lay smoothly?
