Shorts and tights, shorts and tights. I feel like most of the shorts-and-tights looks I see around involve black shorts and/or black tights, but eff that noise.

(I wrote that in as a placeholder when I was uploading the pictures, but I think I’ll leave it.)

This outfit and I didn’t actually leave the house on Saturday, but we DID lounge around a lot and scrub the bathtub and eat leftovers from my favorite Mexican restaurant while we listened to the rain outside.

I know, you’re all impressed.

  1. Also impressed here. What magnificent socks! I do not consider your butt big, but I also don’t consider large rumps a bad thing, PLUS no one asked me.

Question: do the socks stay up by themselves?

    • Mia says:

They’re leggings, actually! Or really thick footless tights, I’m not sure which they actually are. But I do have some thigh-high socks that I will probably wear with shorts soon–the ones that stay up best for me are Extraordinarily Longer Thigh Highs from Sock Dreams, which you can see in teal here:

      And in orange here:

And I also have them in blue stripes but haven’t worn them on the blog yet. They stay around midthigh on their own and are a little higher if I pull them up frequently–if I wanted them allll the way up my thighs I would probably use a garter belt or sock glue. And it’s worth noting that they also stay up best if I layer them over some thin tights, or tuck them into bike shorts, like in the teal-tights outfit pictures.

      • Ah, I should have gathered that from all the times you called them “tights.” I can’t defend my tragic reading comprehension, but that top pale stripe is a pretty convincing flesh tone!
