Button-front and skirt: Goodwill — Tights: Target — Flats: Thrifted (Born) — Ring: Swapped — Necklace: Hand-me-down

Another day, another button-front. I’m getting more comfortable wearing red, though, which was one of my strategies with this 30 for 30. I know, terribly exciting. Red and grey isn’t anything too groundbreaking, but I’m glad that I’m utilizing my red garments more! Plus, I also hauled out a string of Chinese amber beads that my mom handed down to me, so I felt all fancy n’ shit. They don’t photograph too well, but they’re purrrdy.

I’m feeling like a bit of a space case today, cuz I am tired. I was going to wait to mention it, but Mike and I are in the middle of moving! It’s only a little over a mile away from our current/former place, but it’s a standalone house rather than a duplex, it’s got an extra bedroom that we’re going to use as an office-type thing, and–hold the phone–a dishwasher. Seriously, guys, I could cry over the dishwasher. Undone dishes take up so much mental space for me, so I’m super-mega-jazzed about not having to hand-wash everything anymore. (Seriously? I stacked all the dirty dishes in a tub and carted them over to the new place to wash them there. I’m not ashamed.)

I don’t want to get too braggy, but this is a really good move for me and Mike, and we have a couple of weeks to move everything all over and get the old place cleaned up so it’s not too stressful. Now if only we could convince Flat Tire that it’s good for her as well…

  1. Ugh dishes are such a hassle. I’m really grateful living with my inlaws because my FIL is OCD about dishes. So long as I do the cooking, he cleans up.

Congrats on the move though! Hopefully Miss FT will get in the groove soon. It’s been some years since I moved a cat, but they can adapt. I don’t know how you’ve handled it, but maybe leave her in an isolated room if possible?

Also maybe read her this hyperbole and a half post: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/11/dogs-dont-understand-basic-concepts.html

Dishwashers were sent from God to make us happier, better-adjusted people.

It took me a tremendously long time to get used to wearing red. I know, I wear it all the time now, but it did. I grew up thinking it was my sister’s color and mine was blue (THANKS Little House books for giving me freaky color ideas), and convincing my mom NOT to put me in pink. And now I wear red a lot and carry a Barbie pink purse. Growing up, it is of the strange.

Yay for moving! And dishwashers! When we got our first apartment, I made a dishwasher a requirement, because I knew it would set off all of my clutter-hatred and germophobia to not have one. Dishwashers are amazing.
