Dress: eShakti — Flats: American Rag — Necklace: Homemade — Earrings: Gift

Whee, buzz cut! Whee, pretty new dress! Whee, nice natural light in the evening thanks to otherwise-horrid DST!

I guess I’ve got a fair amount to be cheerful about lately. I wore this outfit to a family dinner on Sunday night and liked it all so much that I wore it again to work the next day. Good thing I didn’t drop any tri-tip on my lap while we were eating.

I also finally finished making myself a dip-dye lace necklace! Mike thinks it’s dorky and my cousin said it looked like a flyswatter, but I like it.

What’s been making you cheerful lately?

Pretty outfit! I was curious to see how the necklace turned out ~ I love the color ๐Ÿ™‚
I guess the newspaper was right…tri-tip must be a Cali thing. My brother talks about it often, and now it has turned up on your family dinner’s menu ~ haha!

      Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah, tri-tip is pretty Californian–my stepdad is from out east and he had no idea what it was when he moved here. (He also didn’t know how to eat an artichoke, though.)

I’ve actually been an existential grumpmonster lately – all the more reason to think of reasons to be cheerful, I suppose.

Let’s see…I made my husband’s birthday cake from scratch, and it’s awesome. He even let me cover it with gold and silver sprinkles because SPRINKLES.

We might be adopting a dog! There’s another family in competition for her, so we’ll have to see. Fingers crossed!

And I scored some cheap jewelry at Plato’s Closet this weekend, including a tiny Big Ben pendant that cost $1!

I’ve read how to eat an artichoke, but I’ve never actually eaten one. I hope to try one day soon!
rubybastille ~ the Big Ben pendant sounds awesome!

  4. So… it absolutely already looks like summer in these photos.

    Go away, seriously ๐Ÿ™‚

I mean, I don’t care if it’s cool, but it was 25 degrees this morning at 9:30 again. And It’s supposed to snow two more times in the next four days.

I’m just… I kind of think snow season is over for New York. We’re not that far north. Ugh.
