Dress: eShakti — Flats: American Rag — Necklace: Fuzppa — Bangle and ring: Hand-me-down — Earrings: Target

Sometimes the pictures I end up taking are just kinda…goofy. Like this one, where I was overcorrecting for my usual terrible posture and ended up sort of leeeaaaaning back.

I go back and forth on whether to include (unintentionally) goofy pictures–sometimes I think they distract from the outfit. Did you come here to see the clothes I wear, or did you come here to see me making weird faces? (Don’t answer that.)

Okay, and sometimes I just want to avoid posting a wonky expression or unflattering shot on the blog. I get embarrassed!

But then, sometimes wonky shots are all I get, especially these days. Having a broken wireless trigger -> running back-and-forth from camera to posing spot -> fewer pictures on a hot and sweaty afternoon. Editing six pictures rather than twenty-six can mean making some sacrifices, quality-wise.

And really, showing mistakes and goofs can be as important as showing a carefully-curated selection of pictures of one’s “best self,” whoever that might be. Right?

ETA: I just came across this, which I think only proves my point.

  1. This is a really cute dress! And yes, it is fun to see some goofy looking poses as well as the “normal” ones. The link you posted for the picture of the blogger noticing the wasp nest is priceless!

  2. Is it just me, or do you wish that you could buy a set of everything in blue and white toile? Like, a super-comfy t-shirt and blouses and pants and jeans, and pretty underwear, and all sorts of dresses and skirts? Just for ultimate mixing purposes?
