Tee: Gap Outlet — Skirt: Goodwill — Sandals: Dansko — Pendant: Found at campsite — Ring: Target — Earrings: Etsy

Y’all want to hear a sad story? Mike and I went to the laundromat on Sunday, and SOMEONE (*cough*) left a pen in a pocket that went through the wash cycle and stained a third of the clothes.

INCLUDING THIS SKIRT. Oh, my poor skirt. My ideal floral.

Really, it’s a few blotches down by the hem, so I suppose I could just ignore them and wear it as-is, but I’d rather mope about it for a few days.

He can’t give me any more crap for letting tissues go through the wash, I’ll say that much. (Please tell me I’m not the only one that does this. Tissues have to be on my person at all times, and sometimes I just forget.)

What do you do when a garment gets, uh, altered unexpectedly? Do you weep a little? Do you give it away and move on? Do you chop it up to make something new?

  1. I feel devastated if something happens to one of my precious clothes – I’m usually really particular about laundering them a certain way. But I guess in the larger scheme of things, it’s not that big a deal.

Oh and hubby does the tissue thing too – annoying! :-p

YES I need tissues ALL OF THE TIME. I don’t leave them in my pockets very often anymore (mostly because I do the majority of the laundry now) but I used to be terrible about it as a kid.

  3. Awww noo! I’ve done both of those. Well, the tissues weren’t mine or the DH’s, which is extra icky if you ask me.

I have a worse problem with denim staining my lighter colored garments. Often I just keep wearing them, other-times I get rid of stuff. Depends on what it is.

  4. Oh noooo that’s awful! I guess you could always overdye them, although I’ve never done that before. I’m not much of a clothing care expert, so I’m not too sure what else you could do.
