Ah, my other recent dye project! I bought this skirt around the same time I got these capris, and ended up dying them in the same pot.

The skirt’s actually a bit orange-ier than it appears in these photos, but regardless, I really like its fullness and double layers. It sits a little lower on my hips than I’d prefer, but I haven’t yet decided if I’ll take it in or just leave it be.

This color combination kind of came together out of happenstance–pink/red-orange/jade/yellow certainly wasn’t my original intention–but I ended up being so pleased with it that I snapped a phone pic to share with Twitter while I was still wearing it.

A little silver jewelry and I was good to go. What do you think: too many colors, too few, or just right?

  1. Love all the bright colors together! Do you have to be careful washing your items that you have dyed? It is a beautiful color, but I would worry I would end up with transfer in the wash 😦

Yeah, I washed the skirt and capris the first time after dying with a load of towels and they all came out pink–which is what I expected, but I definitely have to be careful. I’m probably going to hand-wash them from now on just in case.

  2. So great! I love your ultra colorfulness in this outfit! This is the way colorblocking SHOULD work in my mind. Also, please make this skirt somehow large enough to fit me and then mail it to me. You know, with your magic powers.
