Outfit Post: 4/2/14

Top and camisole: Thrifted — Skirt: Blacklist Vintage — Boots: eBay (Steve Madden Troopas) — Necklace: Gift — Bracelet: World Market — Earrings: Angela Grace Jewelry

Whoops! I was going to post this outfit on Friday, but got so bogged down with work that I skipped posting for the first time in…well, a while.

I try to keep on a consistent schedule for the blog because I’m a major procrastinator–even for things I enjoy doing. (Fear of failure, I see you lurking in my hindbrain.)

I know myself, and I know that if I let myself get too off track with posting, Reading in Skirts entries would probably slow to a trickle and then stop altogether. So I keep up the momentum, like riding a bike, and I keep on doing this thing that I like doing! (Wait, am I talking about blogging or bike-riding now?)

ANYWAY. I’m here, I like doing this little blog, and so I’ll keep pedaling and posting! And maybe you’ll keep reading and pedaling with me, and we can ride this overextended metaphor right into the sunset.

  1. I agree with you on the procrastination, and I think that’s what’s troubled my own blog, plus a hearty hit of the winter blues. I have some posts queued up, and I’d like to get back to my regular schedule, because it really helped me keep the momentum.

Also, I really adore that bracelet.

  2. I see that the necklace has survived ~ the last I remember reading, it’s days were possibly numbered due to it losing some of it’s dye when you wore it. Did you find a way to fix that?
I have to agree with freakapotimus about the bracelet…it is really cute 🙂

    • Yes! I followed Erin’s (ladychalice below) advice about painting the backs of the beads with clear nail polish. It worked a treat! I’m glad, too, because it’s such a nice color.

  3. I am totally with you on regular posting. If I don’t post every day or every other day, then I won’t post for weeks. I just lose it every holiday/break that I have from work, even if I have photos on my laptop!

  4. I’ve been in a blogging slump the past few weeks, myself. Just can’t seem to wear or do much that is blog-worthy. My brain is feeling fuzzy, due to hormonal shifting, so I’m blaming that.

Love the bracelet! (And the rest of the outfit, too.)

  5. I’m trying to do the same thing. Although mine is like 3 times a week right now. If I stop, I’ll quit forever. But I like blogging. I’ve had to slow down on my reading/commenting, but you gotta just keep pecking away to keep up with it.
