T-shirt: TMBG concert — Skort: Thrifted — Boots: eBay (Steve Madden Troopas) — Earrings: Solano Stroll — Ring: Target

Awwww yeah! After approximately fifteen years, I’m back in the skort game. And it’s a pink denim miniskort, at that.

Laugh if you must, but this thing is majorly comfortable. I wish all my skirts came with built-in shorts.

In other news, I think I forgot to tell you-all what the surprise Mike had planned for us eons ago turned out to be.

I know you’ve been waiting all this time, desperate to find out, so I won’t beat around the bush: it was a comedy festival! It was a pretty fun time, although 100% of the acts were white folks and only two were women.

But still–Louis C.K. is funnier than I gave him credit for, and I do have a long-standing fondness for Jim Gaffigan. Also, the experience resulted in Mike and I making plans to go see Maria Bamford with a friend at the end of October, so I really can’t be anything but grateful:

  1. 1) That skirt is surprisingly great! The color suits you, and more skirts should have built-in shorts. Totally. I tried buying cute li’l bike-short type undies, but the legs wouldn’t stay down… so they became super uncomfortable panties within three minutes of putting them on. When I was a teacher and wore a school uniform, I had skorts like the female students’. Such a good idea.

    2) Yay comedy! Jim Gaffigan is almost the only stand-up comedian who puts me in a better mood, though I like the Maria Bamford I’ve heard. Mike plans a mean surprise.
