As my hair grows out, I’ve taken to clipping or pinning it out of my face when it gets too irritating. It’s perfectly at eye length in front, which is really delightful when I want to be distracted by wild hairs at the edge of my peripheral vision.

Personally, I think it makes me look kind of like Ayn Rand or like a 1940s schoolgirl, but at least one coworker has opined that they prefer it clipped up.

I don’t think my coworker’s an objectivist, but I could be wrong. I’ll have to casually bring up trains and see what happens.

  1. I like your hair clipped/pinned back, too! It looks neat, cute, and best of all, out of your eyes. Some people can carry off that shaggy, wool over the eyes look, but I for one have always hated hair in my face. My kindergarten yearbook photo is evidence of that fact – it had been a hot day, we’d just come in from recess, and my mom wasn’t there to make me comb my bangs forward. Bwah ha ha…
