Outfit Post: 4/3/15

Shirt: Thrifted (I ❤ Ronson) — Pants: Thrifted (NY&Co) — Shoes: Thrifted (Born) — Socks: Sock Dreams (Heather Bobby Socklings in Rust) — Tank top: Target — Earrings: Freehand Fig Jewelry

This outfit isn’t super exciting, but they can’t all be winners! Everything fits, my butt is covered, what more do you want? (Don’t answer that.)

Speaking of butt-coverings, I bought some new pants over the weekend! FINALLY! Please wait, the confetti will drop momentarily.

I’d heard a few times that J.Crew carries well-made leg-sleeve-type garments, and indeed, I came away with two pairs of work pants and one pair of jeans that fit better than most other pairs I’ve ever owned.

I was sort of hoping that I’d be able to eBay a few more pairs now that I know my J.Crew size, but as with most ready-to-wear clothing brands it wasn’t meant to be. The three pairs of pants that fit best–ankle-length, cropped, and tapered linen–were a size 6, a size 8, and a size 10, respectively, and I bet I could have found a suitable size 12 as well. (The jeans were sized in inches, which was a whole new adventure.)

Soooo, as I should have expected, I really have no better sense of whether a given pair of J.Crew pants online will fit me properly or not. Which is a shame, since the colors the store had available were pretty basic and I haven’t hit my upper limit on hot pink trousers yet.

So many fun things in this post ~ the outfit was nice, but the commentary was the best!
Good luck on upping your closet total of hot pink anything ~ that is an awesome color. I currently have some pretty bright fuchsia Nikes which don’t match a thing I own, but still garner lots of compliments. I think people might be getting used to my eccentricities 😀

  2. Mia, finding pants that fit calls for more than a confetti drop. A parade! A holiday! A day of silent reflection on the vast variety of body shapes!

I tried on pants today. No fun, no success, no confetti. Gosh darn pants.
