Dress: Thrifted (Sandara) — Shoes: Thrifted (Born) — Socks: Sock Dreams (Heather Bobby Socklings in Graphite) — Belt: Macy’s — Bracelet: Beau & Stella — Earrings: Angela Grace Jewelry

I stayed over at my friend Jessica’s on Saturday night–you know, my Nisaba Be Praised buddy–and when I came out dressed like this on Sunday, she commented, “You look like you’re in half-mourning.”

See, this is why I don’t wear all-black, or even mostly dark colors. I look so funereal.

Some people look great in all black everything! Alex, for instance, looks chic and classy. I just can’t quite seem to pull it off.

All of that aside, I wanted to show you a new bracelet I got. I’ve been looking for a piece of jewelry like this for a while now!

Not because I’m a dedicated angler or anything, no. It’s because of “You Fit Into Me” by Margaret Atwood. It’s a very short poem, you can read it right now:

you fit into me
like a hook into an eye

a fish hook
an open eye

So, you see. (Or maybe you don’t. That’s okay too.)

  1. Love the bracelet. I have a blue star outline in the middle of all my black work for the poem Blue Star by Phillip Levine.

Personally, I think you look wicked chic. Love it.

I think you look wonderful in this outfit, and the bracelet is gorgeous. And thank you so much for sharing the Margaret Atwood poem.
