You wouldn’t really know it from these photos, but my bike tried to eat me yesterday.

Actually, I more or less fed it my skirt, so the bike can’t really be blamed. Things didn’t get chewed up nearly as much as I was expecting, though, so I got off light!

Just a small hole to sew up and some bike grease to work out. This dress is pilling a little faster than I would like–does all ponte do this?–but it should hold up pretty well if I’m kinder to it.

Maybe I’ll stop putting it in the dryer. (And stop letting my back wheel gnaw on it, too.)

  1. Piling is a quality issue, but I’ve had all kinds of garments pill up in the last few years, even when I paid a bit more for them. Disposable clothes break my heart/tick me off. Back in my day, it was STRANGE for a garment to get pilled—- now it happens all the time! -shakes cane at whippersnappers-

  2. Echoing your other commenter, Definitely noticing a quality thing with pilling, but it seems to happen to almost all my clothes lately. I hate it. I find vintage clothes in better condition than modern ones, now.

The dress is lovely though. Sorry about your spill.
