If you’ve talked to a Californian (or been a Californian) in the last 48 hours, you know it’s hot here.

It hit 102F here yesterday, so something light was a necessity. Enter the kurti.

I came across a few Fabindia garments during my last thrifting excursion–the prints are gorgeous and the fabric dries quickly, and they fit wonderfully, so here we are. To my understanding, this and the other piece I got are kurtis or short kurtas, but please correct me if I’m wrong!

I looked up Fabindia before buying the shirts, just in case the company’s history turned out to be not-so-great. I feel a little weird about the founder, but altogether I think I’m okay with things, especially since I bought the items secondhand.

Sometimes I overthink things, but I just want to be a good person. Really.

  1. I think you’re a great person to care so much about where your things are sourced first hand from. Most people would assume ‘oh they’re second hand, don’t worry’.

Admittedly, I still skip over coldwater creek things sometimes just because of a bad experience in one of their stores.

Your kurti is gorgeous! I’d love to find one that fits me. I used to have a lime green one that was my favorite ever.
