Guess who overslept on her first day back to work in the new year?! I completely spaced on resetting my alarm after the holidays like a champ. Fortunately, my boss was very understanding, and I’m also glad that I remembered all the appropriate pieces of clothing while rushing to get dressed. Any potentially positive aspects of this outfit just frosting.

Most days when I’m getting dressed, I have to pick between largish earrings and largish necklace. The common piece of advice about not crowding your face too much is a fair one!

Sometimes it’s just too much and throws the balance off. If you know me at all, you know that earrings usually end up winning out. I’m just an earring person; it’s in my blood. (You should see my mom’s collection.)

Once in a while, though, there’s a day where I look at my options and decide to go for the gusto.

Then it’s earrings and necklace galore, and I enjoy having my face crowded a little bit. After all, nobody has to dress for balance if that’s not what they want.

Take that, advice!

Had enough light after work yesterday to take pictures outdoors for the first time in a while–and you know what? I don’t know if I like it anymore!

Now that I finally have a decent indoor setup, outside pictures are just so…outside-y. I guess we’ll see how I feel in a month or two. I’m so capricious, you know. You can never guess what I’m gonna do next. (Probably more outfit pictures.)

I want a girl with a short skirt / and loooooooong sleeve-ies

Okay, it doesn’t really scan. I’m working on it. Anyway, I spent a while with the sleeves of this top pushed up to 3/4 length, but sometimes I just want to feel like a freshman in high school again.

Are they still making hoodies with built-in thumb holes? Can I get a super-professional blazer like that somewhere?

Who’s going to see Angela Lansbury onstage in San Francisco tomorrow afternoon?

Me, me! I am! I’m not going dressed as a medium, though; I wouldn’t want to try to outdo Dame Angela. I’ll just sit quietly in my seat in a tidy dress, brimming with glee.

Grays have been very appropriate for the last few days, since we’ve been awash in fog and overcast skies. Some more rain would be nice in addition to the cold, but I also enjoy fog in its own way. Very theatrical and atmospheric.

I also enjoy being photobombed by Flat Tire. What’s she thinking about here? Cat stuff, I guess.

Sometimes she gets enamored of the shutter’s clicking and wanders in circles in front of my photo area trying to figure out where it’s coming from.

Between that and the Petcube that Mike got as a toy for her himself, it’s a wonder that sight and sound have meaning for her anymore.

And now she’s sleeping on my laptop keyboard, making it very hard to type. You might say that she’s integral to the blogging process.

Hello, hello! Today I am here to tell you that I’m throwing away my sinus irrigation unit. (You know, like a Neti pot but a squeezy container instead of a poury pot thing.)

Which is not to say that YOU should throw away your sinus irrigation units. At least, not if you’re better at cleaning them than I am. I wash mine out with soap and everything–I’m not a monster–but after using it the other night, I spent all of Tuesday sneezing and blowing my horribly clogged nose and experiencing basic sinus misery, which is why I wore one of my comfiest dress-and-cardigan combinations.

So either I need to get rid of the unit or get better about cleaning it out so I don’t send anything horrible up my nasal cavity, and knowing me…well, out it goes. No more brain amoebas for me!
