Hello, my darling field of ash gourds! I’m going to take a little time off the blog for my holiday preparations and travels. Until I return, please enjoy this photo of Flat Tire gettin’ snug.
See you flowering herbaceous vines soon.

I’m all about the pattern on this top I thrifted a couple months ago, but jeez if the fabric doesn’t pill like a mother.
It’s super soft and cozy, which I guess contributes to the problem; I wore it two times before this (on our trip to NYC and Philly), and before wearing it a third time I had to get out my sweater shaver because the shoulder area where my purse usually hangs was significantly, visibly pilled up.
I mean, you probably wouldn’t’ve been able to see the pills in any of the full-body shots, but I would know.
Also, pilling is just so distracting in detail shots. It just bugs me. So I guess this top will be getting regular shaves for as long as it otherwise holds up. Should I throw in the haircut for free?

Flat Tire really got into the spirit of the blog yesterday. I mean, look at that pose! She’s modeling H to T (head to toebeans) for sure.
Usually she just wants me to play with her, or she gets real interested in sniffing my shoes. Maybe she’s been taking secret runway lessons with Miss J Alexander.
Speaking of Miss J, did you hear the news about this being the last cycle of ANTM? I’m not coping well. I may sound composed here, but please rest assured that inside, it’s tearing me apart.
Clearly once it’s over, it’ll be time for a rewatch of cycles 1 through 19 (20 and 21 still being plenty fresh in my mind). I haven’t seen those since I graduated college and was unemployed for six months!
On an unrelated topic, do you know what this sock/shoe combination reminds me of? Greylag geese.

I mean, right? At least a little? I feel like Tyra would back me up on this.

I am given to repeat myself, it seems.
Actually, you probably already knew that; I’ve probably already written about it on here, even. I have a tendency to tell the same stories over and over and to forget what I’ve already said to most of the people I see every day.
That’s another very human foible, but it is embarrassing when I unintentionally write the same blog post two or three times. My life must not be terribly interesting, because evidently I run out of topics! I’ll try to get myself into a couple of scraps and/or adventures sometime soon so I have something new to tell you all about.

I took a few days off from work to try and scare away what felt like an impending cold, and all of a sudden it’s fall and shit?! I’m insulted that nobody asked me first.
I can’t dawdle about taking my after-work photos now; these were taken at 6:30 and I had some issues because the light was going. Soon enough I’ll have to do photos in the morning for a few months, so I hope you’re all excited about sleepface and wet hair.

First off, I would like to offer a correction to yesterday’s post: I know very well and good that the portion of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 22, Episode 3 dedicated to animal-themed neck poses was, in fact, a teach and not a series of TyTyTips.
For this error, I am truly sorry.
However, I’m decidedly unsorry for talking about ANTM in and of itself. Since Cycle 22 began in August, my sometime blogging partner and I have been immersing ourselves in the wonderful garbage world that is Tyra Banks’ special brand of reality television and we couldn’t be happier.
We have our favorites (Nyle, naturally) and our most-hated (Mikey, also naturally), and we spend a lot of time gushing to each other about the incredible absurdity of the whole thing. Why not wrap models in skinny belts and fake hair? Why not give someone a beard weave? Why not consistently and willfully misunderstand the concept of something “going viral”? In the world of ANTM, God does not exist and everything is permitted.

I forgot (read: was too lazy) to put away my jewelry supplies yesterday, so my photo area is a leetle beet messy.
I took a long break from making lace jewelry, but I’m back, sort of! I need to renew some listings and get back in the game, but first I’m doing up a few items that I’ve owed friends for, um, an embarrassing length of time.
My shop’s been open for eleven months and I’ve made roughly five and a half sales, but hey! I like being creative and learning how to get better at working out designs people will like.
I just wish I had more hours in the day so I could go to work, make jewelry, and also get even one other thing done. Maybe I just have too many hobbies.
