Dang, I look a little swaybacked here, huh? I’ve been trying to work on my posture but it doesn’t seem to have had much of an effect.

A month or few ago I got one of those balance ball chairs at work–someone else didn’t want it anymore and it was headed to surplus–and I hoped it would help me remember to keep my shoulders and hips aligned.

But I’ve also read that ball chairs’ ability to improve spinal problems is questionable at best, so maybe I should go back to basics and walk around with a hardcover book on my head.

(Sidenote: my mom went to the Iberian Peninsula recently and brought me back these handmade hammered earrings! They were a little overshadowed at first by the incredible tin of sardines she included in the same package, so I’m anxious to give them their due.)

Third and possibly most successful iteration of the yellow patterned shirt?

I like it best, anyway. Feel free to like whichever one you want! I can’t stop you.

I mean, I guess I could come visit and discuss it with you–we could have tea and snacks and a conversation, and make an afternoon of it.

I wouldn’t try to change your mind or anything. I just think it’d be nice.

Skirt: Leah’s free pile (Old Navy) — Skirt: Thrifted (Maurices) — Shoes: Thrifted (Born) — Bangles: Leah’s free pile — Earrings: Target

Photos had to be pushed forward yesterday on account of my having a therapy appointment after work. So, lunchtime mirror pictures! What a treat!

For the record, the appointment went well and afterwards I got to eat a burrito. I feel continually lucky to have found a therapist who works for me; together, we’re making headway.

My homework this week is to think before I speak, and say what I actually mean instead of what I think people want to hear. To practice, this is what I actually mean right now: burritos are wonderful.

Tunic: Real Gone Girl Studios — Leggings: ASOS — Boots: Macy’s — Necklace: Freehand Fig Jewelry (made by me) — Earrings: Angela Grace Jewelry

I put this together on Friday evening to go have a celebratory dinner with some friends.

(Birthdays are a pretty great occasion for enjoying delicious Korean food together, I think.)

Then, seeing as how I only wore this perfectly good outfit for a handful of hours on Friday, I put it back on for brunch and shopping in San Francisco on Saturday!

There wasn’t a birthday to hang the brunch on, but it was pleasant all the same. I got to eat what amounted to an entire ramekin of wild mushrooms with a little bit of egg mixed in!

Mushrooms are my jam, and these ones made up for the fruitless shopping experience later in the day. It’s nice, you know, being so easy to please.

Who’s going to see Angela Lansbury onstage in San Francisco tomorrow afternoon?

Me, me! I am! I’m not going dressed as a medium, though; I wouldn’t want to try to outdo Dame Angela. I’ll just sit quietly in my seat in a tidy dress, brimming with glee.

Dress: Blacklist Vintage — Thigh-highs: Sock Dreams (Extraordinarily Longer Striped Thigh Highs in Steel & Light Blue) — Boots: Macy’s — Belt: Thrifted — Earrings: Target

You know the nice thing about sheer dresses like this one? They dry quickly after the wearer gets rained on.

These earrings, on the other hand, dry slowly, which is why I took them off before eating my lentil soup at lunch.

I think these boots would keep soup out, but I can’t be sure. They’re definitely the boots I would turn to in case of a Major Soup Disaster. I hope you all have soup boots, friends; these are some dark times we’re going through.
