Shirt: Thrifted — Vest: Thrifted — Skirt: Thrifted (Target) — Flats: Thrifted (Born) — OTKs: Sock Dreams (Over the Knee Stockings in Black) — Earrings: Solano Stroll

Does this work? I think it works, so I guess it’s actually pretty irrelevant what anyone else thinks, but I welcome your comments and constructive criticism nevertheless.

Speaking of criticism, these photos were unusually difficult to edit, for some reason, and I’m still not really happy with them. I mean, it’s not like I do anything fancy or complicated, but trying to get the light correct was an exercise in futility. I swear these socks and shirt are the same shade of black, even though you wouldn’t know it from the pictures. I blame the sun.

(I blame the sun for a lot of things.)

Dress: Lana — Cardigan: Thrifted (no label) — OTKs: Sock Dreams (Dreamer Tartan OTK in Charcoal/Natural/Ochre) — Shoes: Thrifted (Born) — Belt: Thrifted (no label) — Earrings: Hand-me-down

When I put this outfit together I wasn’t sure about it, so I asked Mike if I looked weird.

His response? “Usually.” Wise guy.

Top: Thrifted (Gap) — Skirt: Thrifted (Maurices) — OTKs: Sock Dreams (Dreamer Tartan OTK in Charcoal/Natural/Ochre) — Flats: Thrifted (Born) — Earrings: Gift from Katie!

I want a girl with a short skirt / and loooooooong sleeve-ies

Okay, it doesn’t really scan. I’m working on it. Anyway, I spent a while with the sleeves of this top pushed up to 3/4 length, but sometimes I just want to feel like a freshman in high school again.

Are they still making hoodies with built-in thumb holes? Can I get a super-professional blazer like that somewhere?

Button-front: Thrifted (Penguin) — Vest: Thrifted — Skirt: Thrifted (Pendleton) — Shoes: Payless — Thigh-highs: Sock Dreams (Extraordinary Thigh Highs in Navy) — Earrings: Hand-me-down

I’m not sure how I feel about this frantically thrown-together ensemble. It fits, which is good, but beyond that, I’m just not sure. Also, these gray oxfords are really starting to fall apart; where did your favorite pair of shoes come from?

Top: Thrifted (Bobeau) — Jeans: Tripp NYC — Boots: Macy’s — Jacket: Ragstock — Belt: Target — Earrings: MicDrop Design

This outfit has a secret. (Not a very well-kept secret but a secret nevertheless.)

BOOM. DOUBLE PLAID. And yet somehow I still don’t look like a lumberjack.

In other news: this cat. This friggin’ cat. Flat Tire has been all up ons every time I take outfit pictures lately. Maybe because she wants to break out into her own modeling career? She’s adding some stripes to the pattern mix here, at least.

I think she prefers nude modeling, though, based on her reactions when I try to help her wear a hat.

Sweater: Thrifted (Praza) — Skirt: Thrifted (Extyn) — Leggings: Leah’s free pile — Boots: Macy’s — Earrings: The Wood Merchant — Belt: Thrifted

I could’ve sworn I’d worn this skirt and sweater together before, but a quick jaunt through the archives says no.

Surprising, because it seems so obvious! Then again, I don’t wear this sweater as often as I could because it’s one of my many hand-washables.

I do hand-washing on the reg, but as a matter of course (and as a matter of limited drying-rack space), that stuff just doesn’t get worn as much.

You’d think I’d learn, but when I check wash instructions at the thrift store I’m always convinced that adding one more thing to the wash bucket will be a piece of cake. Oh, foolish Past Mia. What will you have gotten up to next?

Sweater: Thrifted (Target) — Jeans: NYC Tripp — Boots: Macy’s — Belt: Target — Earrings: Nervous System

Oof. My posting has been and might continue to be a little spotty this week! Mike’s dad has needed help moving house and it’s occupied most of our waking, non-working hours since Saturday.

Jumping back, though, this is what I wore to my office’s holiday party. We were given rare permission to wear jeans, so I got excited and wore my plaid ones again. Twice in one week! Calm and order are really breaking down here at Casa Mia.

Anyway, the party was pretty good, as office holiday parties go! Good food, a nice employee appreciation gift, and we played a gift exchange game where I gave away a small, highly-detailed plastic hand and got a fuzzy scarf in return. Festive!
