Does this work? I think it works, so I guess it’s actually pretty irrelevant what anyone else thinks, but I welcome your comments and constructive criticism nevertheless.

20151207-IMG_5139

Speaking of criticism, these photos were unusually difficult to edit, for some reason, and I’m still not really happy with them. I mean, it’s not like I do anything fancy or complicated, but trying to get the light correct was an exercise in futility. I swear these socks and shirt are the same shade of black, even though you wouldn’t know it from the pictures. I blame the sun.

(I blame the sun for a lot of things.)

See, now this outfit I at least partially planned out the night before. Good thing, too, because I overslept my alarm and missed my chance to work a shower into my already-rushed morning schedule.

20151130-IMG_5092

That always happens this time of year, but I haven’t figured out a solid way around it yet. I’ve started placing my phone across the room so that I have to physically get up and turn the alarm off, but that doesn’t work very well when it’s so cold that I immediately turn back around and crawl under the covers again.

20151130-IMG_5096

I’ve also tried placing my fuzzy winter robe and slippers strategically near the alarm, but I’m not at my most rational when I’m sleepy. Let’s hope that setting the thermostat a few degrees higher in the morning makes a difference or it’s going to be a greasy winter.

When I put this outfit together I wasn’t sure about it, so I asked Mike if I looked weird.

His response? “Usually.” Wise guy.

I know this might knock your socks off, but this necklace? Used to be two necklaces.

20151119-IMG_5064

I know, I’ll let you catch your collective breath. I don’t know if I can even delve far back enough into this blog’s past to find one of the original shorter incarnations, because one of the problems with them being shorter was I just didn’t wear them much. Same problem as the Tom Waits necklace, which I lengthened a while back by adding some chain to it.

20151119-IMG_5067

I guess longer necklaces are just my deal? I dunno, man. Anyway, I just made a few modifications to the two vintage amber necklaces my mom gave me so that I could fix them together, and here we are! Truly mind-blowing work, I know. I’m impressed with myself too.

Flat Tire really got into the spirit of the blog yesterday. I mean, look at that pose! She’s modeling H to T (head to toebeans) for sure.

20151019-IMG_4982

Usually she just wants me to play with her, or she gets real interested in sniffing my shoes. Maybe she’s been taking secret runway lessons with Miss J Alexander.

20151019-IMG_4983

Speaking of Miss J, did you hear the news about this being the last cycle of ANTM? I’m not coping well. I may sound composed here, but please rest assured that inside, it’s tearing me apart.

20151019-IMG_4985

Clearly once it’s over, it’ll be time for a rewatch of cycles 1 through 19 (20 and 21 still being plenty fresh in my mind). I haven’t seen those since I graduated college and was unemployed for six months!

20151019-IMG_4989

On an unrelated topic, do you know what this sock/shoe combination reminds me of? Greylag geese.

I mean, right? At least a little? I feel like Tyra would back me up on this.

Dress: Desigual — Sandals: 6pm.com (Enzo Angiolini) — Bralette: Nordstrom (Honeydew Intimates) — Earrings: Mic Drop Design

20150926-IMG_4841

I bought this bralette a while back because–admission–I saw it on Pinterest and it looked really great for wearing under tops that won’t accommodate a traditional bra. (This is why I’ve stopped using Pinterest.)

20150926-IMG_4842

And it’s cute, right? Look:

20150926-IMG_4843

But it’s itchy, which I really should have expected, and even with the fancy back it still looks like underwear peeking out, you know? So it doesn’t get as much mileage as I was originally expecting.

20150926-IMG_4844

Now, I’ve been eyeing the yellow and aquamarine versions, because I think the bright colors would work better for me, but I’m not sure putting up with the itchies will be worth it. I think I need to find another style of cute visible bralette, or dispatch a bra-loving friend to find me one. How about it, pals? Or should I say, brahs?

I bet I’ve worn a near-identical version of this outfit on the blog before, considering most of the pieces have been with me for some time, but I’m not about to go look.

20150917-IMG_4770

Plausible deniability is the name of the game, folks.

20150917-IMG_4771

It’s not that surprising, anyway. I’ve had most of the pieces in this outfit for a long time, relatively-speaking. The dress has been with me for over two years!

20150917-IMG_4775

And okay, two-plus years is not that long a time to have a garment (my dad has bragged about shirts he owned for twenty years or more), but it’s longish when you consider the lifespan of this blog, and my interest in clothing in general. It’s practically an old-timer! Let’s hope it doesn’t get gunned down three days before retirement.
