This skirt is holding up pretty well after two and a half years in my hands. I’m impressed, because I tend to be pretty hard on clothes.
Sure, I have a lot of variety so certain things don’t necessarily get worn out that way, but I am a creature of spills, stains, rips, and general tomfoolery.
Probably most folks with personal style blogs say that, though, huh? I guess it’s an easy way to be relatable, since a lot of people have spilled an entire drink on themselves at least once in their adult life.
Which is not to imply that all bloggers are constantly calculating how to draw the largest readership with a veneer of authenticity, but if you must admit to something embarrassing, coffee stains are an easy go-to in lieu of other foibles that might feel more isolating.
Of course, any time someone on the internet asks, “am I the only one who [x]?,” they inevitably learn that they are far from the only one who [x]es, so sometimes it pays off to take a brave little step and open yourself up. As a f’rinstance, I read this essay about loneliness just a little while ago (thanks to my friend Quin), and amusingly enough, it made me feel a little less lonely to know there are other people who experience frequent loneliness even when they have an active social life. I’m lonely! I’m lonely a lot! I’m lonely when I’m by myself and I’m lonely when I’m with friends! I never know when it’s going to strike. Who wants to hang out and be lonely together with me?
LOVE this outfit! The demin-y top plus the florals is so cute.
