I don’t use the “navy” tag on this blog very much, since navy isn’t usually my first choice for neutrals and I don’t have much of it in my closet, but I guess I really should use it in reference to this shirt. I think of it as blue, but isn’t it navy?
Where’s the line for navy, anyway? Is it a question only of shade or also of saturation? I guess I could look it up, but I’d rather ask you.
(Please to ignore the my phone; the sticky note just has a to-do list on it. I make to-do lists on my phone, on my computer, on Habitica, and it still isn’t enough. It’s a wonder I get anything done.)
Anyway, I find myself grateful that this blog doesn’t have a “mustard” tag in addition to “yellow,” or I’d be here all day.
Reading in Skirts 
Navy, to me, is a dark blue, like a sailor’s dress uniform. My dad was in the US Navy, so my definition of navy, the color, stems from that.
LOVE this look. I think the shirt is navy (which might be my favourite neutral and the one of which I own the least amount? My friend Kees in high school used to go shopping with me and physically bar me from buying anything else black. I had to stop him from buying orange, as he was Dutch, but it really fought with his skin tone).
Hey! I don’t know if you still get notified of comments, but I just wanted to say–you gave me a bunch of wigs a few years ago, when I was doing Dressopotamia, and I have always loved them, but they have been particularly useful over the last few weeks. I’ve been wearing them during video conference calls, just to make things a little more fun for my co-workers. People love the silly, bright colors, so–thank you, again, for your generous gift, which continues to spark joy several years later. Hope you and yours are well. xoxoxox
Hi there! I do indeed still get notifications, few and far between though they may be. I’m so delighted to hear that the wigs are still serving you well! What a great use for them. I’ve been considering breaking out my collection of silly hats for the same sort of thing, so this is just the inspiration I needed to actually do it.
On a side note, I wanted to send you a note back in November when your run on Jeopardy aired! I had a few minutes of deja vu trying to figure out how I knew your name and face, and when I finally made the connection I had to yell at my partner all about it. It was a really excellent moment of surreality. I should have thought to leave a comment on Dressopotamia like you did here!
